Our Team is Here For Your Lee County, Alabama Business 24/7
2/10/2022 (Permalink)
You know when you see the green equipment that you'll soon be back to "Like it never even happened."
We recently had a large rain storm in Lee County, Alabama and the surrounding areas. With the rain and wind damage comes a strong potential for water damage to both residential and commercial buildings. That's where we come in!
After this particular storm, our team was called out beginning at 11:30PM and they did not stop until 2PM the following day. PHEW!
As crews were out through the night, a call came in at 6AM from the largest university in our area. We'll give you a second to guess which one. If you guessed Auburn University, you'd be correct!
Water was entering the building through the roof. This was affecting the building from the top down.
Our team was onsite within the hour (after working all night long) to see how we could help. Upon arriving, we found that three floors were affected. Our team knew exactly what to do. It did not take the team long to extract the water, do the necessary demo, and get drying equipment set to start getting the building dry.
We are SO thankful for an amazing, hardworking team that helps our local community after storms like that. If you find your property impacted by water damage after a storm, you can trust the SERVPRO of Lee County team.

A roof leak recently caused damage to this Lee County, Alabama business. Due to the size of the loss and the equipment needed, we brought in a generator to ensure we have plenty of power to dry the impacted areas in a timely manner with our machines.
Due to the size of the building, we used our desiccant to help us dry the structure and materials. Check it out in the photo. Should we do a series featuring some of our equipment? Let us know if you'd be interested in learning more!

An Update on Terry's Grocery
5/2/2018 (Permalink)
Click here for a link to the news article from WRBL.
Here is a small excerpt from the article that we wanted to go ahead and share, "The grocer has served the Smiths Station community, but after a small electrical fire filled the store with smoke, Terry's was forced to closed its doors.
The owners tell News 3 the motor of an ice cream freezer caused a worn down electrical cord beneath it to catch fire April 19. The damages were minimal, but the smoke was so heavy all of the groceries had to be thrown out and replaced. Dillion Terry, employee and son of Terry's owner, says he is grateful for the community's support."
After 11 days, we are so glad they are back to serve the local community. It also mentions in the article that they'll "be providing grocery specials as well as a raffle to bring in more customers over the next few weeks."
We will keep you guys updated! Thanks again Terry's Grocery for trusting us to get the job done.

Did you know...
As many as 50% of businesses close down following a disaster, according to the latest research. Of the businesses that survive, the overwhelming majority of them had a preparedness plan in place. Pre-planning can serve as an insurance policy aimed at peace of mind. And knowing you are "Ready for whatever happens" speaks trust to your clients and employees that in the event your business is affected by a disaster, they don’t necessarily have to be.
By developing a SERVPRO Emergency READY Profile for your business, you minimize business interruption by having an immediate plan of action. Knowing what to do and what to expect in advance is the key to timely mitigation and can help minimize how water and fire damage can affect your business.
- A no cost assessment of your facility.
This means there is no need to allocate funds, giving you a great value at no cost.
- A concise Profile Document that contains only the critical information needed in the event of an emergency.
It will only take a little time to complete and will not take you away from current projects. But it will save a lot of time if ever needed.
- A guide to help you get back into your building following a disaster.
This can help minimize the amount of time your business is inactive by having an immediate plan of action.
- Establishes your local SERVPRO Franchise Professional as your disaster mitigation and restoration provider.
You have a provider that is recognized as an industry leader and close by.
- Identification of the line of command for authorizing work to begin.
This saves time so we can begin the work of mitigating the damage which can save you time and money.
- Provides facility details such as shut-off valve locations, priority areas and priority contact information.
Having a quick reference of what to do, how to do it and who to call provides solutions in advance of an emergency so that during the emergency you are "Ready for whatever happens."
